Frequently Asked Questions

Paper choiceS

What photographic papers do you offer?

A critical component of the printed photograph is the paper on which you choose to print. We offer two of the best-quality fine art paper options available — one matte and one semi-gloss — to ensure tonal accuracy, depth, and emotional impact.

One. For matte lovers, we print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag® Paper (308 gsm, no OBA’s), a matte paper renowned for its unrivaled depth without compromising detail and accuracy in the tones. This heavy, yet soft, bright white, acid-free 100% cotton rag paper produces truly stunning fine art images. It has a smooth texture and is the top of archival standards.

Two. If you prefer a satin or semi-gloss finish (more of a toned down gloss), we offer Epson Premium Luster® (260 gsm, no OBA’s) — a heavy bright white resin coated archival paper for vivid life-like images with a luster finish (showing less glare than glossy).

If you are a fan of high gloss, just let us know. We’re happy to substitute Epson Premium Glossy®.

IMAGE ChoiceS & Custom Orders

Will the shop offer additional images? May I order something that I see in the Portfolio, but isn’t in the Shop?

I carefully select a sampling of my work for limited release (framed or unframed), and will change image selections regularly. If you have a favorite image in mind, or prefer something in my portfolio or Instagram account (@tricialaddphoto), send me a note.

If you would like a custom size print (up to 40” x 60”), or a different frame style or color, or a stretched canvas, send me a note with your preferences. I will happily work with you to create something special that meets your needs and exceeds your expectations.

If you are looking for an image on stretched canvas, or a metal print, contact me.

Uniquely framed work is available at my Islesboro, Maine gallery. If you are interested in a specific image, let me know and if it’s on hand, I will email you a photo.

FRAMES, FLOATED & Regular Mats, UV Protection, Shipping, RETURNS

What framing materials do you use? What is a floated mat?

  • Gallery-quality wood frames are expertly hand crafted and offered in three finishes: white, black, and natural.

  • 100% archival and acid-free inks, foam core, and mats

  • Frames. Dimensions are 3/4" face + 1-1/4" depth (slightly deeper for largest sizes). Add 3” to 7” to photo width to calculate finished size (depending on photo size); if you’d like the exterior dimensions of your order, down to the last centimeter, please contact me.)

  • Mats. Mat corners are beveled cut with extreme precision. You may select a single white mat or a floated white mat (the photograph appears to float above the mat, thanks to a spacer between the print and the frame). If you prefer a larger mat size, send me a note.

    • Photo Size Mat Width  Floated Mat Width

      7” x 10” 1” .5”

      10” x 16” 2” 1”

      16” x 24” 2.5” 1”

      20” x 30” 3” 1.5”

  • UV Protection. Instead of standard glass, modern technology has produced a popular alternative that better fits the preservation and protection needs of photographers, galleries, and museums — acrylic glass. Although shatter-proof acrylic tends to be more costly than regular glass, it provides greater clarity while being lighter yet more durable. Our acrylic glass protects artwork against 85-89% of damaging UV rays and 92% of light. (If you plan to hang your artwork in a very brightly lit area in a sunny climate, you may choose to upgrade to 99% UV acrylic for additional filtering — email for options and pricing.) We recommend cleaning your framed photograph with a microfiber cloth.

  • Shipping. Prints are perfectly packaged and shipped with care, including protective paperback finish with wall bumpers, hanging hardware + hanging instructions. Unframed prints are wrapped in tissue paper and carefully rolled into a shipping tube. International shipping is available at cost, upon request.

  • No Returns. Orders are final, as each is custom made.
